green-monster-31Emily’s Green Monster:

I’ve been juicing for almost one month now, and thought I’d break out the ol’ blender and see what kind of concoction I could come up with.  I actually surprised myself with how unadventurous I was (forgive me–i had the first time heebie jeebies).

4 big leaves of Kale
1/3 fresh mango
1/2 one peach
1/2 frozen banana
3 small frozed strawberries
dollop of rice milk (sorry, didn’t measure)
ground flax seed
1 tsp “better n’ peanut butter”
ummm—this was absolutely amazing.  My blender is no Vita Mix, so you can still see some of the berry residue (which i actually didn’t mind at all).  I’m so pleased to announce that my first interaction with the Monster left me wanting more, more, more!

Thanks for all your suggestions!! can’t wait to experiment further!

I discovered green monsters through the blog world, and though my family thinks its a little strange, I drink one most mornings after my workout.   I like knowing I am sneaking in some veggies, even though I can’t taste them.  I like using spinach, so I get a little extra iron since I don’t eat any meat!  This one was a last minute inspiration this morning, which I loved.  I rarely drink juice, but the OJ was calling to me!

-1 banana
-6 strawberries
-2 tsp. chia gel
-1 scoop Amazing Grass Green Superfood
-handfuls of spinach
-about half a cup OJ (the real stuff!)
-6 ice cubes.

I like to blend everything up, then add my ice cubes in last.  I also always taste every smoothie I make, and sometimes add in some agave!

I recently started to increase my raw food intake this summer and I feel incredible! I’m not 100% raw and probably never will be but I love love love healthy raw food (and healthy cooked food). I came across ohsheglows one day on twitter and love to check your update and see all the delicious things you are cooking. On a day that I was trying to decide what to have for breakfast I noticed you green monster and thought – yuuuummm. I’ve been making the classic green monsters in the morning and I really can’t believe how great they are! Delicious and I have energy all day long. I’m always so surprised how long it takes me to actually get hungry again. Thanks so much for this delicious yet nutritious shake!
The other day I slept at a friends house and didn’t have the regular ingredients so I just winged it! It turned out very yummy 🙂 Here’s my recipe:

Blue-Green Monster
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup blueberries
1 cup almond milk
a few almonds (they added some fun texture)

This green monster is a simple one – 50% fruits, 50% vegetables, and fruit juice!

This one has fresh spinach, sugar snap peas, apples and grape juice.

So refreshing and light and healthy! Love it!

My Green Monster addiction started a couple of months ago, when a dear friend of mine was blogging about them.  I was thoroughly intrigued, and b/c she has inspired me like crazy, I figured it must be good if she loves them!

So I have tried a few different ways, and sometimes they are purple, and sometimes green, but this is one of my faves right now!

3 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup cantaloupe
handful of strawberries
1 banana
flax seed
splash of milk
ice

Very yummy, very pretty, and gives me energy for hours!!

YAY for Green Monster lovers! 🙂

green monster ice creamNicole’s Green Monster:

Hey Angela! This morning I was getting ready to make some banana ice cream (you know the raw frozen banana recipe floating around the blogs) and I thought to myself why not make it green monster ice cream!

So it’s 1 frozen banana, 1 piece of kale, and flax seeds.

It’s green, delish, and healthy!

I thought it might be something you’d want to try! Sorry about the stinky pix! I couldn’t find my camera and I had to use my phone.
