Allie’s Green Monster:

Ingredients:
– 2 Cups Spinach
– 1 Cup Vanilla Almond Breeze
– 1 Tbsp White Chocolate Wonderful PB – PB & Co.
– 1/2 Banana
– 1 Tsp Coconut Extract

I love this Green Monster because of my not so secret ingredient – Coconut Extract. It gives the GM a tropical(ish) flavour. I love the Green Monster so much so that I’ve started making them for everyone who will let me. My cousin is the least adventurous eater I know. I made this for her and she absolutely loved it. Now she makes them at home and adds her own ingredients.

Thanks Angela for this healthy and amazing recipe!

Nicole’s Green Monster:

I work out a lot. BUT, I’m also trying to lose weight. I was training for a 200km bike ride for charity (in the mountains, no less) and I was always tired. I THOUGHT I ate enough fruits and veggies, but maybe not enough variation.

So – I gave in. With all the hype about these green monsters…I thought, well, if everyone is doing it…then maybe I should too…
So I did. And by the end of the week I felt better, my stomach was acting a lot better, and I had more energy. I’m not sure HOW its possible…but, its the truth!

Here is what I make every morning:

1 cup of almond milk (other milk of choice could be used)
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
1/2 frozen banana
2-3 cups of organic, baby spinach

And whizzz away! Occassionally I have to add a few splashes of water. And the first few weeks I had to remember this trick – DON’T LOOK DOWN! Just drink it and enjoy the taste – forget about the color!

Shelly‘s Green Monster

I made my first green monster back in May and promptly named him Shrek! ๐Ÿ™‚
It was very tasty and included 1/2 a bananna, a few frozen strawberries, 2/3 cup almond milk, 3 big handfuls of baby spinach, and 1 teaspoon ofย  spirulina powder.
Since then, my favorite green monster is one I make for breakfast- it contains a scoop of chocolate protein powder, 3/4 cups of almond milk, 1 banana, a handful of frozen cranberries (so tasty with the chocolate protein!), a scoop of spirulina, and as much spinach as I can fit in my blender.
It tastes divine and since I’ve started drinking them, my skin has improved 100%. My hair and nails are growing really fast as well!
Thanks for the green monster idea!

Stacey’s Green Monster

Being an avid exerciser I have drank plain ol’ protein shakes for years after my workouts. Then one day a few months ago I came across Angela’s site and was totally smitten with her “Green Monsters”. She is more of a woman then me though, cause while I can rock me some spinach,…kale, makes me want to blow chunks every time! Even with something stupid like half a leaf! Okay, maybe not HALF a leaf, but while Green monsters(I’ve nicknamed them green muscles on my blog) are so good going down, I’m thinking not so much coming back up. So I’ve given up on the kale for now just to be safe. ๐Ÿ™‚

In this green monster is:
1 c. soymilk(unsweetened) (I cannot find Almond Breeze anywhere around here)
1 scoop of ON whey natural strawberry protein powder
1/2 c. of frozen organic blueberries
4 cups of organic baby spinach
1 dropperful of vanilla creme stevia

…fabulous!

Since this picture and that recipe I have come to love adding 5 dark sweet pitted cherries as well, YUM-O!

Melanie’s Green Monster:

Well I’m new to the green monster world, but I’m glad I found it!!! Angela, is in fact the one who introduced me to GM’s – via her OSG website! Great way to get in the greens, while keeping them yummy and refreshing!!! I find I’m enjoying my GM’s mid morning, so I’ve aptly named mine the “Bright(en your day) Green Monster. Being a newby, this is a sweeter GM, then some probably.

In my GM, I put:
1 ring of fresh Pineapple
1/16 slice of Canteloupe
1/2 Pear
4 Tbsp Pear Juice (Apple could work too)
1 T Flaxseed meal
2 inch section of peeled Cucumber
1/8 of an Avacado
1 large handful of Spinach
Blend it all together, and drink up the goodness!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m always trying to find a tasty way to shove more greens down my throat every week. I do a ton of salad but somedays you want aย  tasty, chilly, smootie-fruity. A fruit soup is you will:)

SO…..I was lucky to find Angela’s blog and her posts about these amazing green health drinks. I got inspired and created my own go to Green Monster and it NEVER let me down.

My recipe is:

2 handfuls organic Spinach
1/2 block of firm tofu
1 small bananna
8oz Vit 10 water in Energy Orange flavor
1 dropper of lemon flavored Stevia
few ice cubes

YUM…Slurp:)

My next attempt will include berries and almond milk:)

Kayla’s Green Monster

So I’ve seen these Green Monsters around on a lot of blogs and was always kind of grossed out by the thought. Spinach? In a smoothie? No thanks.

But then I bought some spinach for a recipe and ended up with a lot of the scary green veggie left over (I say scary because I’m pretty sure that up until my first bite of pasta that night I had never knowingly eaten Popeye’s favorite food.)I was an incredibly picky eater as a kid (I’m still working on it) and pretty much refused to eat anything green. I’m happy to say that I now love many green items, but I do still have a hard time eating leafy greens.

So I figured a GM was possibly a good way to try to get more greens in my diet and decide to trust my favorite bloggers and give a GM a try.

And guess what: it was awesome! I was really afraid to try this scary colored drink but it’s actually really good! I always thought everyone was so full of it when they said “you can’t taste the spinach at all!” but they were telling the truth!!

My Green Monster consisted of:
about 1 cup of Organic Vanilla Soy Milk
1 Small Banana
1 Teaspoon of Simply Skippy Peanut Butter
2 Frozen Peach Slices
a Handful of Spinach

I just mixed it all up in my Magic Bullet.

And I’ve had many GMs since this one, I absolutely love them!
