I finally took the plunge and started making myself Green Monsters a few weeks ago. YUM! After realizing how healthy AND yummy they are, I decided I needed to start making them for my kids. They have been enjoying smoothies forever now (#3 calls them “moothies”) so I just had to start making them green. Or brown in our case, which is the colour they end up being with the addition of strawberries or raspberries. (Though you can’t really see their colour too well with coloured smoothie cups.)
Their favorite recipe:
-Banana
-2% milk
-Frozen strawberries or raspberries (or any berries)
-Ice
-Yogurt or cottage cheese
-Spinach
-Flax seed or hemp hearts
-A little stevia to bring out the sweetness of the berries
I feel like such a great mom when I can get them to eat well! Three cheers for Green Monsters!
