Corinne’s Green Monster
My friend had forwarded Angela’s blog to me and said “you’re going to
love this.” She was right! We decided to embark on a “green monster
challenge” together, what better way than with a companion, and I
haven’t looked back since.
It’s been nearly a month now and I haven’t repeated a single recipe.
Whatever I have in the fridge/freezer is what goes in – I hold nothing
back! I have a few favourites, but this one (the first one I ever
made) tops the chart.
1/2 C water (or rice milk)
2 C kale (or spinach)
1 T peanut butter
1 T flaxseed
1 banana
1/2 C mango
DELICIOUS!!

Katie’s Green Monster:
I have been really skeptical about trying the Green Monster. (The thought of drinking vegetables has never appealed to me!) But a few weeks ago I turned 24 and decided to start making some healthier choices. I read Oh She Glows every day now and have read all of the benefits that you have received from them so I decided that yesterday was the day! I made my first one and I loved it! (My little chihuahua loved it too! ha ha you can see a picture of her licking the glass clean here
Tropical Green Monster
1 mango
3/4 cup [uncooked] baby spinach
ice cubes
3/4 cup unsweetened Almond Breeze
little drizzle of agave
I drank it before heading to the Tuesday night Bible Study that I teach and it definitely held me over until I got home…3 hours later. Thanks so much for the idea and the encouragement!
I don’t drink margaritas so my pink margarita glass shall henceforth be known as the Green Monster glass!

Karoline’s Green Monster:
So I will be the first to admit that I need to do a better job of eating my green leafy vegetables. The Green Monster was something that I was initially hesitant about. I mean I love spinach and all, but spinach and banana together? Nuh uh.
I changed up the recipe a little bit and added a scant spoonful of peanut butter to the mix.
Ingredients:
1 big handful spinach
1/2 cup frozen tropical fruit
1/2 frozen banana
3/4 cup(ish) lite soymilk
2 tsp peanut butter
Verdict? A-. The addition of the peanut butter really helped with the taste and not only smoothed out the spinach flavor but also added a richness and creaminess. This plus some whole grain crackers kept my tummy happy for about four hours!

Carine‘s Green Monster:
Angela, your Green Monster has made its way to Singapore (Asia) 😀 Maybe it will reach Africa soon, where many of my readers are from! I’ve been following your blog for quite some time and I’ve always seen you and your green monsters. Out of curiosity, I decided to try making my own as I had no idea what it tasted like. Well, it tasted pretty good and indeed, you can’t taste the spinach at all!My green monster consisted of a handful of English baby spinach, raspberries, vanilla milk and some sugar.

Paige‘s Green Monster:
Hi Angela,
I’ve been a reader of your blog for some time now, and every time you posted about the green monsters, you peaked my interest. I kept thinking to myself I’d get around to making one myself. Then, when you posted about this contest, I figured this was the time to do it! I made one today after work which included:
2 1/2 cups of spinach
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1 cup of fresh blue berries
a smidgen of almond milk
1/2 scoop of banana protein powder
It turned out like somewhat of a greenish brown color – and I was definitely nervous to try it! But I gulped it down, and to my amazement, it was good! The entire time I drank it I was thinking, “I can’t believe I’m drinking my vegetables!”
I’ve attached a few photos in the email. Thanks for getting me to try this, too!

Beth‘s Green Monster
Hi Angela!
In honor of your Green Monster Movement site (which looks great btw!) I tried my very first Green Monster this morning. I’m usually an oat addict but lately I have been feeling a little sluggish in the morning and know that you always say the GM’s give you amazing energy. I was willing to give it a shot! I took a few pics, one of my simple ingredients (have to start small!) and one of me taking my first sip. I was really impressed! It tasted great and didn’t weigh me down at all which is just what I need in the summer months. Thanks for introducing me to the GM – I think I’ll be trying all different combos in the near future!
Best,
Beth @ CrossBorderCravings

Jocelyn’s Green Monster:
Green monsters are taking over the world! It all started with Angela’s blog about ways to increase your intake of vegetables and who would have ever thought that they would taste so good as a shake?! I sure didn’t. I was a bit skeptical. It took me a few weeks before I was convinced to try and make my own. The drinks Angela made were always green and swamp like. How could these possible taste good? I imagined myself having to hold my nose while I drank the green monster and just having to gulp it down but boy was I wrong! These drinks taste amazing! (and are good for you also!) The great thing about green monsters is that you can make it your own. I love bananas and strawberries so I made my first one like this:
1 med banana
4 strawberries
1 cup of vanilla almond milk
3 ice cubes
2 handfuls of spinach
1 Tsbp of Maca powder
Sooo good! I can’t emphasise it enough. It was like (shall I compare?!) drinking a milk shake but I knew it was healthy for me! Go Green monsters. I’m now addicted and can’t wait to switch up the ingredients and explore the endless possibilities! : )

Hi Angela! I don’t have a picture, but I do mix and match ingredients because I LOVE trying new things in my green monsters every morning! Yum! My favourite tip from your website was to blend them (just bought a new blender) for a full minute… before that, I only blended them for 20 seconds or so and my GMs were fibrous and now they are SMOOTH! They’re good both ways but now that I realize I don’t need a fancy juicer, I’ll never go back!
YUMM my mouth is watering 🙂
I have also been spreading the word like mad about GMs. Ever since you created this website it has been so easy to send it to people or tell people about it…. the other day I was buying almond milk and someone came up to me telling me he bought that drink the other day but didn’t enjoy it at all. How could he make it better? I told him to make a GM with it and verbally linked him to your website! He was thrilled! A friend came over and saw me making one… he sipped it and LOVED it, thought it was totally genius!
I am spreading the word like wildfire, and loving each GM more than my last!
THANKS!! 🙂
