Been drinking Green Monsters every morning since I discovering them on OSG and can honestly say that it was the most perfect timing,
end of semester=stress overload
stress overload+green monsters=energy to push through to the end
Not only that, but it is perfect time for summer, have more energy to get back on the path and start running again. It’s been way too long.
Thanks for the awesome recipes everyone here is one of my own that I like to call:
Raspberry Ripe
Couple handfuls of spinach
1/2 cup of frozen or fresh raspberries
3/4 cup of your choice of milk (or depending the consistency you like)
1/4 cup of coconut milk (or to your taste)
tsp of carob powder
2 tsp ground flax seed
I threw in some left over carob chips that I had from when I made the raw vegan chocolate chip cookies, adds a nice surprise and some sweetness.

Hey Angela,
After reading your blog & seeing all the green monsters floating around all the blogosphere I had to go out & buy myself a blender & some spinach! I have been making smoothies with chocolate amazing meal for about a week & finally got up the nerve to try spinach this morning. I promise the unappetizing photo does not do it justice.
Chocolate Blackberry Purple Monster
1 handful of raw spinach (probably will do more next time)
1/2 scoop chocolate amazing meal
1 tbsp flaxseed meal
handful of frozen blackberries
~4 frozen strawberries
~1 cup vanilla almond milk
some sprinkles of stevia to taste
It’s pretty sweet so you might want to leave out the stevia if that’s not your thing.

Ever since reading Oh She Glows, I have been curious about the Green Monster, but a little intimidated by the thought of making one. I have made a few attempts in the last 4 months all of which were total fails. Then today a light came on, after reading everyone’s recipes and watching from the sidelines, I jumped in the kitchen and put together my simple and delicious GM!
Carly’s Quicky Green Monster

* 1/2 cup of mango peach yogurt

I am hooked! One a day from now on for sure!

I’ve noticed an interesting shift in my food cravings in the past several weeks. Where once I lusted after hearty soups and stick-to-your-ribs entrees, I now yearn for fresh spring greens and crisp peaches. To honor the changing seasons, I’ve begun to reorganize my shelves a bit, storing oatmeal toppings toward the back, and bringing light, bright spices toward the front. I also found myself in the checkout line at the market last night with a bag of spinach, a bunch of bananas and greek yogurt (4/$5!). Do you know what this means?
The Green Monster is BACK!
1/2 container Honey Chobani
3 large handfuls baby spinach
2/3 medium banana
1 T organic creamy Trader Joe’s peanut butter
1/4 c. whole rolled oats
1/2 cup water
4 ice cubes
Topping: sprinkle of raisin almond granola from Costco
