I usually have a green monster every morning. My recipe make a quart so, I drink it all morning at my desk.  My co-workers usually wrinkle their noses at it, with out even trying it. I just love it.
Put the following in your blender: 2 cups water, 3 handfuls of spinach, 1 handful kale, mix – 1 apple sliced, 1 necterine (or 1 cup other fruit), 1 banana, 1 Tablespoon flax, 1 teaspoon cinnimon – mix
Since I take it to work I pour it into a container and then drink glasses at work.

I have always loved smoothies, but it didn’t occur to me until I saw this site to add a serving of vitamin-packed veggies to it. I tried my first Green Monster just last week, and now I can’t go a day without one!

I like my smoothies cold and thick, so I freeze all the solids in my favorite recipe. It takes a strong blender and a lot of patience, but the result is the closest thing to a healthy milkshake you can get. Instead of breakfast, I make it for dessert :p

-1 cup frozen spinach
-1/2 a frozen banana
-1/2 cup frozen fruits (I use a mix of pineapples, mangoes, peaches and strawberries)
-1 cup light plain soy milk
-a drizzle of honey

I have been drinking green monster for a few weeks, trying everything! Everything was yummy, but this is by far the best. Pared down, simple, but incredibly refreshing. I don’t like ice because it waters down my green monster, so i freeze most of the fruit to get the texture. These green monsters just start your day off on the right foot!!! My boyfriend although turned off by the greenness says this is by far his favorite~

1 cup of vanilla almond milk
1 ripe banana
2 cups of spinach
1 scoop of Amazing Grass Green Superfood
1 tbsp of hemp seeds
1 1/2 cup of frozen cantaloupe
1 cup frozen peaches

Hi Angela!
I love your site and you have totally turned me on to Green Monsters!
I run a personal finance blog  (carrieonthecheap.wordpress.com), but my second passion is fitness/healthy living.  I started drinking green monsters about 2 months ago and now have one almost EVERY day! I love them!  I even turned my BF on to them (who also shares my same finance and healthy living passions)!
See – you have an affect on all types of people – even us personal finance NERDS!!!!! 😀
My green monster pic is attached.  It’s more of a brownish green monster since I use a lot of blueberries… 🙂
Ingredients usually are:
LOTS of spinach – 3 big handfuls
5 strawberries
handfuls of blueberries
water
Truvia (sorry I know you hate these)
sometimes milk
Thanks!!
Carrie

I wake up in the morning craving the refreshing and nourishing taste of a Green Monster! I was a little skeptical at first (who wouldn’t be!) but was so pleasantly surprised. Now, I never leave for work without a travel mug filled with the green good stuff!!

One morning, I had put all of the ingredients in the blender and turned it on. I went off to continue getting ready for work while the blender did it’s thing. I was mid mascara applying when I hear my boyfriend say “uh oh” and the blender stop. I wearily peer into the kitchen to see him standing there with a splintered wooden spoon in hand saying “I was only trying to help!” He had stuck the spoon in the blender while it was going to try and get things moving! Needless to say, our Golden Retriever, Toby, got the wooden spoon flavored Green Monster that morning. He loved it!!!

This is one of the easiest and one of my favorite smoothie recipes!! I call it the GO GREEN smoothie because I made it first at my Mom’s place and we loaded it with greens!

Smoothies are so easy to make and easy to pack tons of wondering nutrient rich ingredients into! They taste delicious, are quick portable too. No worries about missing breakfast if you whip this up the night before and keep in the fridge. Just put it back on the blender and spin a few times to mix it in the morning and off you go!

Ingredients:

2 Cups of spinach

2 Cups of frozen Tropical Mix fruit

2 Cups of fresh Blueberries

1/2 C. of Rice Dream rice milk

1 packet of Electro Mix, electrolyte sport mix

Hi Angela!

Here’s my Pineapple Strawberry Banana Green Monster:

2 Large handfuls of spinach
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 ripe, frozen banana
1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tsp coconut oil
1 scoop Amazing Grass drink powder

Throw it all in the blender and blend away!  I’ve been drinking GMs for about 4 weeks now and I’ve noticed a HUGE increase in my energy, especially in the mornings! I used to drink a couple cups of coffee to start my day, but I’ve noticed that I have no desire or need to drink even a single cup after having the GM.  I love love love my GMs!!

Thank you for inspiring so many people to live healthier lives! Have a wonderful evening!
