P1010278Jocelyn’s Green Monster:

Hi Angela!

I discovered your blog after reading about Green Monsters on several other blogs, and I wanted to find the source.  Can I just say that I love your blog also, BTW! I read it every day!

So I started making Green Monsters about a month ago, probably 5 times a week, as my “first” breakfast, around 7 AM at work.  I am happy to say that I have experienced all the great effects, shiny hair, strong nails, glowing skin, and more energy!  I have also cut back my caffeine intake to 1 cup of coffee in the morning (I used to drink 2-3 throughout the day).  I kinda need that one cup though, since I have to be at work at 6:30 every morning!

Anyways, I love the Green Monsters and I have even got my husband drinking them!  Every morning, I make enough for TWO GMs, one for me and one for him.  He LOVES them! yay!

Here’s my new favorite combo, just made it this morning:
3 handfuls fresh baby spinach
12 oz. light soymilk
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/4 cup frozen mango
1 banana
1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 drizzle vanilla extract
4-6 ice cubes

It is so creamy and tropical and luscious!  No sweetener needed 🙂

Hi Angela!

I wanted to submit a picture of my favorite Green Monster!  My recipe
is really basic, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to win this Amazing
Grass package!  I have experimented with adding blueberries,
raspberries, and strawberries, but this mixture is my favorite so far:

– 2 huge handfuls spinach
– 1 scoop milled flax
– 1 banana (the more ripe, the better!)
– 1 cup vanilla soymilk
– 1 big scoop of peanut butter
– 4 ice cubes

So refreshing!!  Thank you introducing me to Green Monsters!  I am now
obsessed and must have one every day.  I don’t think my husband really
“gets” it yet, but I’m working on it!

Thanks!
Niki

I started experimenting with green monsters when I first began following your blog a few months ago.  I’ve tried a lot of different combinations, but I always come back to the most basic one…and I love it!!!  Thanks so much for the idea, and also for sharing about Amazing Grass.  AG has intensified the benefits of my green monster exponentially!!

My favorite recipe:
1.25 cups light soy milk
two huge handfuls spinach
1 scoop amazing grass
one small handful blueberries
ice

My husband surprised me by making me this gm one morning!

My favourite is: 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, a whackload of spinach, 1 organic banana, 1/4 C of organic berries ( raspberry and blueberrry are divine!) 1 tbsp flaxseed, annd 1 tbsp of almond butta. Soooo good. Sometimes I leave the berries out.. “classic” is really good 🙂 His fave is: Optimum nutrition vanilla protein, 1 organic banana, whackload of spinach, 2% milk, flaxseed, and berries! Hi Angela,
I found your site this week and I think I have devoured almost the entire site 🙂
I am 37 yrs old and have battled weight my entire life! I have done every diet, gimmick etc that is out there……I always loose some weight but then rebound eat and gain some if not all back! I finally hit my rock bottom and decided to implement the clean eating rules that I have known all along but just couldn’t seem to get a handle on! Silly because I can work out 5-6 days a week, run races, etc but just wasn’t able to wrap my head around the principles of clean eating to once and for all lose the 20 or so pounds I’ve been hanging on to…..then along came Oh She Glows into my life and viola! the lightbulb went off!
Anyway, I am getting sidetracked here……..I was SO skeptical of the green monster! I love spinach but in a shake?!? Come on!! Now that was just TOO healthy, earthy, granola-y for me!! But I gave it a shot!  Today after kickboxing at the gym, I ran to the store and picked up all the ingredients…..I decided I would try the “Classic” Green Monster since I was in doubt. I mixed everything up in the order you suggested, poured it in my fancy glass and slowly took a tiny sip……..Holy Cow!!!!! This stuff is GOOD, YUMMY and REFRESHING!! And it stopped my hunger pangs!! I can say with confidence that I am a Green Monster convert and soon to be addict!! Thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Recipe: Classic Green Monster

I am a newbie on the Green Monster scene.  My first Green Monster was made with Angela’s recipe for first-timers, and it was DELICIOUS!  However, the flax didn’t agree with my stomach.  I REALLY didn’t want to give up on these new powerhouses, so I tried again.  This time, I eliminated the flax seed and added some chocolate.  Oh my gosh!  It was so good….like a healthy, breakfast milkshake. Yum!  I am definitely on the Green Monster bandwagon and can’t wait to keep experimenting with new flavors!
Recipe:
 – 1 Frozen Banana
 – Large Handful Spinach
 – 1 Cup Milk
 – about 1/3 Cup of Nasoya Dark Chocolate Silken Creations
THANKS!
